Snow Develops This Afternoon - Transitions to Sleet and Freezing Rain at Night

The next storm will spread snow into the region today mainly between the hours of 3-5 pm, with a transition to sleet then freezing rain in many areas prior to midnight.  This is likely to make for a slow and messy evening commute. Snow accumulations prior to the switch will be variable and dependent on the exact timing of the changeover but in general  will range from 2"-4" in most spots.  Locally 3"-6" of snow will be possible in the Mohawk valley, Adirondacks, Lake George-Saratoga Region, Vermont and the Berkshires where snow is more likely to last longer.  0.10" to 0.15" of ice accretion will be possible into early Wednesday morning on top of the snow.

Bottom Line: Facebook Scam

Updated: Friday, August 2 2013, 10:17 PM EDT
Could getting your regular Facebook fix soon cost you cash?

Some
users are wondering whether that's the case, because of a message that's been
circulating the site.

It's a Bottom Line Alert, and
here's what CBS 6's Dori Marlin found out about it:

The message tells
users that Facebook has a new "membership price grid" with different tiers -
including gold, silver and bronze.

It then tells the user that if they
don't share the message with Facebook friends by midnight, they'll be forced to
pay the next time they sign on.

The Bottom Line?  The message is
a scam.

Facebook has said a number of times now, the site will
always be free for users.

So if anyone on Facebook says you have to pay
to play on the site, don't believe it - and don't give out any money.

If
there's something you'd like to get The Bottom Line on, send Dori an e-mail
about it: The address is thebottomline@cbs6albany.com.Bottom Line: Facebook Scam
