Hoosick Falls property owner suing companies behind PFOA contamination
HOOSICK FALLS -- There's a battle brewing over PFOA in Hooosick Falls.
The owner of the Tops Supermarket property is suing Saint Gobain Plastics and Honeywell, saying the value of the land has decreased and it could now be "valueless." The suit seeks $2.1 million in damages. Suit documents allege that even with the filtration system in place, the stigma of PFOA contamination will linger for years.
The companies have filed a motion to have the suit dismissed, saying it has no basis under New York law.
