Albany man sentenced, guilty of planting recording device in Starbucks bathroom
ALBANY, NY (WRGB) An Albany man will spend the next 1 to 3 years in prison after pleading guilty to an unlawful surveillance charge.
Investigators say on March 18, 2017, Colonie Police department were called after an employee at the Starbuck’s on Wolf Road found what appeared to be a suspicious cell phone charger device in the bathroom.
Police learned that the equipment was actually a recording device.
33 year old Johnathan Waters was arrested. On December 8, 2017, Waters pleaded guilty to one count of Unlawful Surveillance.
When released, Waters will have to also register as a sex offender.
