Albany Mayor says residents may qualify for tax breaks
ALBANY - The mayor of Albany wants to help keep cash in your pocket this tax season.
Mayor Kathy Sheehan says that Albany residents may be eligible for tax breaks and refunds that that they might not know they qualify for.
According to the mayor, one in five people who are eligible for the earned income tax credit don't apply for it.
The income limit varies based on number of children, according to organizers.
The maximum income for the 2015 tax year is $53,267 for a family with three children
The mayor encouraged families to take advantage of a free tax filing service.
