Albany officer pleads not guilty in hit and run crash

Officer Shawn Dixon is charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. He has pleaded not guilty.

ALBANY -- An Albany police officer pleaded not guilty Friday, after the DA's office said he left the scene of a personal injury crash earlier this month.

Police say officer Shawn Dixon, who was not on duty at the time, left the scene of a crash on West Lawrence Street two weeks ago.

Dixon's attorney said he believes the charge is inflated because his client is a police officer.
