Berkshires march for Four Freedoms
PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Hundreds turned out in Pittsfield Saturday, marching for the Four Freedoms President Franklin Delano Roosevelt laid out in 1941.
Those freedoms: Freedom of religion and freedom of speech, freedom from want and freedom from fear.
The march and rally were organized by the Four Freedoms Coalition, formed from the Berkshire County NAACP, the Berkshire Central Labor Council and the Berkshire Brigades, with the support of local leaders and community groups.
FDR's grandson was one of the speakers. The speech was given Jan. 6, 1941 -- 76 years ago Friday.
