One dead, six injured in serious Pittstown crash
UPDATE -- State Police confirm one fatality in the crash late this morning on Route 7.
One person was airlifted following the crash, and five more people were transported by ambulance.
State Police say all those individuals were transported for non-life-threatening injuries.
They say all six individuals were wearing seatbelts, and credited that fact for mitigating their injuries -- and possibly preventing additional fatalities.
Pittstown and Brunswick Fire Departments, five ambulance companies, the State Department of Transportation and numerous other emergency responders assisted at the scene, and the State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit also assisted with investigating the cause.
The road was closed for about five hours.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash.
The road remains closed in both directions, and crash reconstruction teams are working at the scene.
PITTSTOWN -- One person has been airlifted following a multi-vehicle crash on Route 7 in Pittstown.
Pittstown fire officials described the scene on the department Facebook page as a multi-mva, with multiple patients requiring extrication.
No word yet on the extent of other injuries.
All lanes of travel are closed between Parker School Road and Reservoir Lake Road.
