Hack-a-thon gets underway in Troy
TROY -- A 36-hour 'hack-a-thon' is underway in Troy.
More than $1,000 in prizes are being offered to hackers at the Tech Valley Center of Gravity. The event tries to change what people typically think of when they hear of hackers.
The challenge is to make a certain piece of technology do something it wasn't designed to do in order to solve a problem. The hackers will be competing nonstop throughout the night until 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, when their hacks will be judged.
