Opioid forum held in Warren County
QUEENBSURY--Local leaders and lawmakers gathered for a roundtable Tuesday on the Opioid and heroin epidemic facing New York State.
Rep. Elise Stefanik joined local sheriffs and prosecutors at SUNY Adirondack in Queensbury to discuss the problem and what steps are needed to curb addiction to heroin and other opioids.
"This needs to be a collaborative approach, it needs to be a comprehensive approach, sharing information and sharing best practices of what works," said Stefanik.
Rep. Stefanik was also one of the lawmakers who pushed to pass a national comprehensive addiction and recovery act, focused on prevention, treatment, and funding in the fight against drug abuse.
