Husband, wife facing charges in connection to sex abuse investigation
TROY, NY – A husband and wife face several charges in the case of alleged sexual abuse of two young girls.
William A. Cavanaugh, Sr. and Dianne Cavanaugh of Troy are both named in the indictment, unsealed Monday.
The indictment charges William Cavanaugh with several sex crimes including predatory sex assault against a child, sexual conduct against a child, 2nd degree criminal sex act, attempted 2nd degree rape and other charges.
Dianne Cavanaugh faces several charges of criminal solicitation, endangering welfare of a child for helping to provide the means and opportunity for the commission of the crimes.
The indictment alleges the crimes occurred over several years, dating back to 2008 and as recent as 2016.
William A. Cavanaugh, Sr. was released on $20,000 bail, and Dianne Cavanaugh was released on $7,500 bail.
