Man arrested for Livingston Ave. shooting
ALBANY, NY (WRGB) The Albany Police Department made an arrest Friday from Thursday night's shooting on Livingston Ave.
Leshawn Kittle was charged with attempted murder and criminal use of a firearm, according to Albany Police.
Albany Police said that at approximately 6:30 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the area of Livingston Avenue and Lark Street for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they were also notified by staff from Albany Memorial Hospital that a male had just entered their emergency room with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The victim, 42, sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to Albany Police. The victim's name was not released.
Albany Police said a New York State Trooper observed a vehicle traveling with its headlights off on Broadway in Albany and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Kittle refused to stop and led officers on a brief chase that ended in the area of Phillips Street and Warren Street. Albany Police say Kittle fled on foot for a short time before he was caught.
Albany Police say Kittle is currently under the supervision of New York State Parole.
Kittle was arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court.
