Man sentenced after pleading guilty to attempted kidnapping at Poestenkill Gorge
TROY, NY (WRGB) A Troy man will spend the next 7 years in prison, after pleading guilty to attempted kidnapping.
Back in February, 39 year old Daniel Flowers pleaded guilty to one count of attempted kidnapping.
Investigators say Flowers, back on August 2nd at about 1:50 pm in the area of the gorge on the Poestenkill creek approached two young women and performed a lewd act.
Police say the suspect then attempted to assault and abduct one of the two women. Together they were able to fight off the suspect and escape.
Rensselaer County District Abelove said, “This violent, sexual predator is thankfully off our streets. I commend the women who showed incredible courage and strength, both in fighting off their attacker, and pursuing the prosecution of this despicable defendant.”
Flowers will also serve 15 years probation and will have to register as a sex offender.
