North Greenbush Police searching for "armed and dangerous" jewel thief
North Greenbush, NY (WRGB) - North Greenbush Police are searching for a suspect they consider armed and dangerous.
Police tell us 26-year-old Charlie Hardt robbed a jewelry store and committed a home invasion Saturday afternoon.
Investigators say Hardt entered Don Cook Jewelry around 2:30 p.m., displayed a weapon and stole merchandise from the store. No one was injured.
Police tell us Hardt left the jewelry store and took off on foot, stole a car from a nearby home to use as a getaway vehicle.
The car was later recovered in Albany.
Hardt is described as 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds. He has hazel eyes and blond/brown hair.
