Police: Man charged with murder following deaths of mother, child
GLENS FALLS, NY (WRGB)---The suspect in a horrifying double murder that claimed the lives of a woman and her 4 year old child appeared in court for the first time Friday to face charges in their deaths.
21-year-old Bryan Redden appeared unemotional in a white jump suit and handcuffs as he plead not guilty to one count of first degree murder and two counts of second degree murder.
Glens Falls police say Redden killed a mother and her 4-year old child Friday morning inside their apartment on South Street.
Police say Redden and the mother were acquaintances, but wouldn't comment further on the extent of their relationship.
Around noon, police say they found Redden in a car on Bay Street and he was taken into custody.
In court, Redden told the judge he is homeless.
At this time, we have very little information about the victims - police have not released their names or clarified how they died.
"It is an ongoing investigation and there's evidence that is being collected and I think that in the future, seeing how the case progresses, that maybe some of those things will be more available but they're not available right now," said District Attorney Jason Carusone.
Redden was remanded to the Warren County Jail without bail.
He's due back in court on Tuesday.
