Police: UPS driver arrested on burglary charge
NORTH GREENBUSH, NY (WRGB) North Greenbush say a UPS driver was arrested, accused of burglarizing a home after making a delivery.
Police say 29 year old Michael Gray of Schenectady was working as a driver for UPS Tuesday when he entered a residence, stealing property from a home in Wynantskill.
North Greenbush Police Chief Robert Durivage says Gray had been to the house before.
"He was familiar with the house because he had been there the day before in attempts to make the initial delivery."
Gray was charged with burglary and petit larceny. He was arraigned in North Greenbush Town Court and has been released from the Rensselaer County Jail after posting $1,000 bail.
"There's a level of trust that you provide to those people, but this should send a strong message, keep your residence locked”, Chief Durivage said.
UPS tells CBS 6 "Gray was employed for less than two months. upon notification of his arrest, ups immediately terminated his employment."
