Rally honors Andrew Kearse, calls for answers about his death
SCHENECTADY -- Protesters rallied in honor of Andrew Kearse Saturday, demanding justice for his death while in police custody.
In May of 2017, Kearse was arrested after leading Schenectady police on a foot chase. Officers say he complained of dizziness and difficulty breathing during the ride to the police station. He eventually lost consciousness and was later pronounced dead, which prompted an investigation by the New York Attorney General.
That investigation is ongoing.
