South Glens Falls man charged with animal abuse
SOUTH GLENS FALLS (WRGB) The Washington County Sheriff's office arrested a South Glens Falls man on charges of animal abuse and tampering with physical evidence.
According to Washington County Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy, Jeffery Owens was charged with 37 counts of animal abuse and five counts of tampering with evidence. Murphy said that Owens was charged after an investigation determined that Owens allegedly failed to provide proper care, sustenance and living conditions to 37 of his animals. Also, according to Murphy, Owens allegedly attempted to conceal five of his deceased animals during the investigation.
Owens was arraigned on Town of Kingsbury Court. He was released on his own recognizance and will appear in court at a future date.
Owens’ attorney, Tucker Stanclift spoke with CBS 6, and said a not guilty plea was entered with the court.
