Sheriff: Suspicious devices at Knox transfer station found to be inert
KNOX -- Several suspicious devices found at the Knox transfer station were determined to be inert.
That's the word from Sheriff Craig D. Apple Sr., who said deputies responded Saturday when several suspicious objects were found inside a dumpster.
Deputies observed devices with wires attached, along with a package of commercial-grade SEMTEX-H.
Apple says deputies contacted the New York State Police Bomb Disposal Unit, which determined all the devices are inert and safe.
Apple said there are no criminal charges pending at present, but the investigation is ongoing.
