Start-UP NY jobs report: 332 jobs created in 2015
ALBANY -- The long-awaited Start-UP NY jobs report is out, released late Friday afternoon -- three months past its deadline.
The report says 332 jobs were created in New York in 2015, an improvement on the 76 created in 2014.
The program gives tax breaks to new, developing businesses, in return for job creation. But it has been criticized for spending millions on those tax breaks and advertising promoting the program, with little return.
In 2015, each job created cost more than $168,000.
