Sheriff's Office: Three face charges in welfare fraud scheme

TOWN OF CHESTER, NY (WRGB) The Warren County Sheriff's Office say they have charged three people in connection to welfare fraud involving child care reimbursement.

Investigators say 22 year old Molly Finch and 26 year old Kimiya Hart submitted childcare assistance benefits from December through March of 2017, listing 49 year old Shirley Finch as a childcare provider.

Shirley in return then billed for to childcare hours, according to investigators.

Investigators say that Shirley Finch was working at Gore Mt Ski Center at the times she was reimbursed for childcare.

Warren County Department of Social Services says that Kimiya Hart obtained $2,936 in childcare benefits that she was not entitled to and Molly Finch obtained $3,141 in childcare benefits that she was not entitled to.

Molly Finch was charged with Welfare Fraud, Grand Larceny and four counts of Offering a False Instrument for Filing.

Kimiya Hart was charged with Welfare Fraud, Grand Larceny and three counts of Offering a False Instrument for Filing.

Shirley Finch was charged with seven counts of Offering a False Instrument for Filing.
