Washington County Sheriff: Source of rumor identified in Hudson Falls M.S. threat
KINGSBURY, NY (WRGB) The Washington County Sheriff's Office say they have identified the source who made an unsubstantiated rumor of a threat that was circulating on social media about Hudson Falls Middle School.
In a post on its Facebook page, the Sheriff's Office said, "At this time there is no credible threat to the school. The source was a student and the investigation is ongoing with possible legal action pending. There will still be a law enforcement presence at the schools."
Hudson Falls Superintendent, Linda Goewey says that they were also aware and were taking precautions and was working with law enforcement. Anyone with information can call Washington County dispatch 518-747-4623.
A posting on the Hudson Falls Central School District website said, "Our first job is the safety and well-being of our students. There will continue to be a law enforcement presence at all of our schools. We also thank our law enforcement partners who worked throughout the night to help identify the source of this threat."
