Watervliet Police take care of injured deer found in apartment courtyard
WATERVLIET, NY (WRGB) The Watervliet Police Department is taking care of an injured deer.
According to a Facebook post, Watervliet Police received a call around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday about an injured deer in the MJ Day Apartments Courtyard. Initially, Watervliet Police thought they would have to put down the deer.
Despite the injury, the deer was walking. The Police put a dog leash on the deer for a little bit to keep the animal out of traffic. The Watervliet Police said that didn't last long, but the deer stayed and followed officer Jim Verhagen into the Housing Authority Garage. They were waiting for staff from North Country Wildlife to pick up the deer.
