Workforce Team Challenge 2017: Where to park and how to stay cool
ALBANY, NY (WRGB)--The summer-like weather is here, just one day before the area's biggest road race, the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge.
Thousands of runners are expected Thursday, but how will the heat affect them and the race?
Organizers tell us they have everything planned out to keep people from overheating. They are encouraging people to drink a lot of water ahead of the race and say they will have extra water stations set up along the route as well.
The Albany Fire Department will be spraying water onto runners at the start and finish line on Madison Avenue. A medical tent will also be located there with emergency teams ready. New this year, participants will be able to put their medical emergency information on their bibs.
Organizers are asking that people know their limits and stop running if they feel they need to.
