Non-gaming, non-smoking hotel to open in downtown Reno
A new hotel opening in downtown Reno is hoping to attract guests because of what it doesn't have: gaming and smoking.
A boutique, non-gaming, non-smoking hotel, the Plaza Resort Club Hotel is holding a grand opening Thursday, Oct. 19, from 4-7 p.m.
Located at 121 West. St., in the heart of the Riverwalk/dining district, across the street from the Truckee River, the Plaza Resort Club Hotel includes an indoor pool, large roof top deck, private bar, guest lounge, banquet room, fitness room and conference room. All of the properties amenities are housed on the hotel's seventh floor. Previously, the property was an exclusive timeshare resort.
Additionally, officials say the hotel is geared toward corporate and leisure travelers who want a more exclusive guest experience, including larger rooms, valet parking and a variety of off-property food options.
"The traveler can enjoy everything the casino district and downtown has to offer, but when they're ready to call it a day, can escape the smoke and noise that goes along with it and retreat to a clean, quiet room," officials said in a statement.
