Cohoes man sentenced, pleaded guilty to shooting man twice after dispute

Cohoes man pleads guilty to attempted assault in shooting

ALBANY, NY (WRGB) The Albany County District Attorney's Office says that a Cohoes man will serve 9-12 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges after a shooting in the city of Cohoes.

Police say on June 4th, 2017, at around 3:10 PM, 24 year old Christopher Cowan fired a handgun in the are of 170 Congress Street.

Investigators say a verbal dispute escalated when Cowan pulled a .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol and shot the victim in the area of the neck and shoulder.

Police say the shooting was caught on a cell phone.

Cowan pleaded guilty to attempted assault back in September 2017.
