YPFI: State senator calls for investigation of Taste NY rest area construction
ALBANY (WRGB) -- A state senator now says he wants to investigate the huge and expensive overhaul of a Taste NY Thruway rest area that CBS6's Greg Floyd first reported.
State Senator Rich Funke says he can't understand why a brand new $7.5 million rest area just west of Fultonville was gutted, the outside torn apart, all just a few months after it opened. The Thruway Board chair did not want to talk to CBS6 about it, but now Senator Funke does. He's also concerned about another rest area near Rochester that was built, but was never opened. Funke, who chairs the Senate Tourism Committee, says it's time to investigate.
CBS6 is also seeking answers and will share them with you as soon as we get them.
