Late Shen rally falls short against Guilderland

CLIFTON PARK, NY (WRGB)--While some teams were fighting for playoff spots, Guilderland was aiming a little higher Friday night

The unbeaten Dutchmen locked up a share of the Liberty Division title last week, but, a loss tonight at Shenendehowa and they'd have to share it three ways: with the Plainsmen, and with CBA.

Because of tie-breaker rules, to secure the division's number one seed, Guilderland just needed to be winning at the end of the first quarter and they did just that.

They led 13-7 when George Marinopoulos aired it out down the sideline to Cody Custard for the first down.

Then, from the ten, Marinopoulos dumps it off to Stefan Brantley on the screen and he's fights his way through four plainsmen defenders into the endzone, 33-14 Dutch.

Shen would fumble the ensuing kickoff, and on Guilderland's first play of the drive, Marinopoulos drops a dime to Steven Fedorchak for the touchdown, making it 40-14.

Shen does rally late, but the comeback falls short, 47-44.
