Beyond the Games: Bill Lajeunesse
NISKAYUNA, NY (WRGB)--Siena softball went the first three weeks of the season without winning a game.
But after their 0-12 start, the saints have gone 20-13, most recently rattling off six-straight wins.
Over the weekend, Siena clinched a spot in the MAAC Tournament, and with one conference series left, still has a chance to earn the number-one overall seed.
Bill Lajeunesse has now led the saints to seven-straight 20-win seasons after taking over as head coach in 2011.
The Cohoes native got his start at the high school level, where he coached soccer, football, wrestling, and baseball, before finally settling on softball.
Siena is undoubtedly happy to have him on board.
The most successful coach in program history is now adding another chapter to his already legendary run with the Saints.
