Albany A's snap Braintree's 32 game winning streak
BRAINTREE , CT (WRGB)--The reigning Stan Musial World Series Champion Albany Athletics begin their title defense tonight in Connecticut.
Albany faces a tough first-round draw in the 32-0 Braintree White Sox.
But, if there's a man for the job, it's Watervliet native Chris Salamida.
The former Tri-City ValleyCat and 2006 New York-Penn League 'Pitcher of the Year' got the start tonight against the White Sox.
And, the former 13th round draft pick of the Houston Astros gets the job done, tossing a complete game, allowing just four hits and no earned runs while striking out nine in the winning effort.
The Athletics snap Braintree's 32-game win streak to hand the White Sox their first loss of the year.
Albany will play a second round game tomorrow against Pelham at 10 o'clock in the morning.
