Albany boxer Kasir Goldston ranked No. 1 in USA
Albany, NY - Kasir "Mazzi" Goldston is only 13-years-old. Yet the Albany teenager already has won six national boxing titles, including back-to-back Junior Olympics championships.
The most recent came last month in Dallas, which led to Goldston becoming the No. 1 ranked boxer in the United States for his age group. That's well and good, but he's got greater aspirations.
"I want to be bigger than (Floyd) Mayweather, bigger than Muhammed Ali," Goldston told CBS6 during a break in training Friday at Spartan Fitness. "I want to be the best there was, the best there ever will be."
A third generation boxer, Goldston is also a standout running back in football, and middle distance runner in track. He attended Thomas O'Brien Academy last year as a 6th grader.
