The then-River Rats swept the Canadiens in the Finals, bringing the hardware back to Albany.
New Jersey is relocating its AHL franchise to Binghamton at the end of the season, so the Devils have one last chance to win another Calder Cup in Albany.
Albany earned a 3-0 shutout win in game one, thanks to a 27-save performance by Mackenzie Blackwood. Ben Thomson, John Quenneville, and Brian Gibbons all found the back of the net.
