Spikes strike back, beat Tri-City on "Christmas in July" night (WRGB)

TROY, NY (WRGB)--Kristopher Scheetz was promoted to Tri-City yesterday afternoon, and tonight, the undrafted rookie making his ValleyCats debut against the State College Spikes.

Scheetz cruised through the opening frame after getting Scott Hurst out on strikes for the first out of the game.

Scheetz allowed just three hits and one earned run in four innings of work.

Scoreless in the first and one on for Jake Adams, and the Astros sixth round draft pick smokes one over the fence in right, that his second home run in as many nights, put the 'Cats up 2-0.

That lead held into the third, but then Evan Mendoza drops a liner into shallow center as the spikes cut the Tri-City lead in half.

But the Spikes would strike back, beating Tri-City 10-4.
