ValleyCats late rally comes up short, fall to State College 7-6
TROY, NY (WRGB)--The ValleyCats hosted State College at "The Joe" for the series rubber match against the Spikes.
Even without their star slugger, Tri-City had no problem getting on the board early
Kyle Davis rips a liner down the right field line and Abraham Toro comes into score, and Davis pulls up at third for the RBI triple.
That one-run lead though, wouldn't last long as Carlos Hiraldo walks the bases loaded, and Imeldo Diaz makes him pay as two runs score on the double and the Spikes jump in front 2-1.
The ValleyCats answer right back in the bottom half as Kyle Davis ropes one down the third baseline, scoring Reid Russell to even it up at 2-2.
But Tyler Lancaster blows it open for State College, hitting a grand slam.
Tri-City's Abraham Toro would hit a three run homer in the 9th, making it one run game.
It would stay that was as the 'Cats comeback falls short, 7-6 .
