2010-11 Season: Fields played in 31 of the teams 33 games, missing only the Saint Josephs and Canisius (1/21) games. He scored in all but three of his 31appearances, including three games in double figures. He netted 15 points in his fourth career game against Norfolk State, a number which he would surpass at Iona in the regular-season final. The guard tallied a career-high 21 points against the Gaels, with three of his five field goals coming from behind the three-point line. The guard scored in his first 14 appearances, highlighted hisNorfolk State performance. During that 14-game run, Fields averaged 5.1 points per game and shot 44 percent from the floor (18 of 41) and 43 percent from three-point range (6 of 14). Fields became one of the teams most dependable ball handlers, dishing off 50 assists against just 35 turnovers in 31 games. He posted more turnovers than assists just eight times, none of which came in the Stags four post-season games. He played 10 or more minutes in 23 games as afreshman, but turned the ball over multiple times in just seven of thoseoutings.

Before Fairfield: Fields attended Cheshire Academy after spending timeat Albany Academy. He averaged 20.8 points per game as a junior at Albany Academy, scoring more than 20 points 13 times in 2008-09. Fields tallied a season-high 34 points against Edgewater, one of 30-point performances during the season. He showed his shooting range with 39 three pointers, which helped him score 498 points last season.
