Albany, NY - The Big Ten Conference has voted to disband on July 1st. The league, which has been in place since 1977, has been struggling to keep all of its traditional member schools competitive.
Amsterdam will begin competing immediately in the Foothills Council. The remaining schools (Troy, Albany, Schenectady, La Salle, CBA, Catholic Central, Bishop Maginn and Bishop Gibbons) will all compete as independents starting in the fall of 2014.
