Troy, NY - Monday marked the 6th annual Hall of Fame night at Joe Bruno Stadium, with a number of artifacts on display from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown.
A 1928 model mitt from Johnny Evers, a Troy native and Baseball Hall of Famer, was the featured item.
"Troy, New York was a hotbed for professional baseball," said Hall of Fame Director of Communications Craig Muder. "The Troy Haymakers was the team that was the precursor to the New York Giants. And they were a professional team that played here. New York is filled with baseball history, and we in Cooperstown are intent on documenting it all."
The Tri-City ValleyCats won the game, 6-2, over the Vermont Lake Monsters.
