Snow will fall at a modeate to heavy clip through the afternoon and evening with snowfall rates of 1" per hour or more at times.  This will cause rapid accumulations coupled with significantly reduced visibility to produce widespread difficult travel conditions through the evening.  Snow will begin breaking up late tonight with the storm pulling out between 1am and 4am Thursday. Troy officer runs into burning building, rescues trapped woman, 80, from blaze

TROY -- A Troy Police officer is being hailed a hero after rescuing an elderly handicapped woman from her burning home Tuesday morning.

The 911 call came in around 10:30 a.m. for a two-alarm fire at 334 Fourth Avenue.

Officer Walter Tague was in the area and spotted heavy smoke from the blaze a few blocks away.

Arriving first at the scene, Tague was informed by Marlene Chiccarelli, the daughter of the 80-year-old woman trapped on the second floor, that she couldn't get her mother out of the house.

Tague sprinted through heavy smoke on the first floor, up the stairs, and carried the woman out to safety.
