Church to host public hearing

TROY -- The Kokopellis bar brawl has prompted Missing Link Zion Church to host a public forum on how minorities should deal with Troy police.

After last month's brawl, some Troy residents claimed police used excessive force.

Troy police say video of the fight vindicates their actions...The group organizing the forum says they haven't decided what the video really shows.

Legal experts will be on hand at tonight's forum to answer questions.

The pastor of missing link says minorities and police need to learn how to work together.

But the Troy Police Department was not invited to take part in Wednesday night's forum.

Pastor Willie Bacote says "I think we both have experienced a lot of animosity, a lot of hate, a lot of fingerpointing and i think it's time and i believe it time to find a way to come to this table to begin to find solutions to this problem and stop accusing and stop this divide."

The forum will be held at the missing link church at 3370 6th Ave in Troy tonight at 6.
