Construction begins on Latham Circle bridges

LATHAM -- A $7.4 million project to replace the bridges at the Latham Traffic Circle is under way.

Weekday lane closures will begin on April 1, 2013.

This project meets the requirements of the Governor’s Driver’s First Initiative, which prioritizes the convenience of motorists and ensures that disruptions are as minimal as possible to drivers at highway and bridge projects across the state.

Because this project will coincide with the major weekend construction work on the Twin Bridges, NYSDOT will limit lane closures on Route 9 and Route 2 to weekdays until the Twin Bridges work is completed. Lane closures on Route 2 will occur only during off-peak hours.
