Maple syrup season going strong in Vt.

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) -- The maple sugaring season has gotten off to a sweet start in Vermont.
Henry Marckres a maple specialist with the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, said Wednesday that producers have taken in about one-half to two-thirds of a crop in the southern and western part of the state while the season is just getting under way in some spots in the north and east.
With temperatures rising above freezing during the day, followed by cool nights, Marckres says this should be a great week.
