Nor'easter to Bring a Heavy to Major Snowfall Monday Night into Tuesday Night

A major Nor'easter is expected to develop south of New England Monday night, potentially getting stuck near Cape Cod into Tuesday before moving away Tuesday night.  This storm will bring heavy snow and gusty wind at times causing blowing and drifting snow, potential whiteout conditions at times leading to dangerous travel late Monday night through Tuesday.  Snow accumulations of 10" to 20" will be possible, especially in the Hudson valley and across western New England with amounts up to 10" in the Mohawk valley and western Catskills.

Last dog at NY Sandy shelter has new home

MINEOLA -- A Long Island dog left homeless after Superstorm Sandy is homeless no longer.
Newsday (http://bit.ly/102mi3t ) reports that Bruno has been adopted by a couple in Melville whose two dogs recently died due to illness and old age.
The Rottweiler's owner lost his home in Long Beach during the storm and was unable to care for him.
Bruno was the last remaining dog at an emergency shelter for Long Island pets left homeless by Superstorm Sandy. The shelter closed earlier this month and Bruno was moved to Northwind Kennels in Bedford, in Westchester County.
The kennel's owner, Penny Smith-Berk, said hundreds of people emailed offering to adopt Bruno.
A total of 515 pets were housed in the emergency shelter in the weeks and months after Sandy.
