Nor'easter to Bring a Heavy to Major Snowfall Monday Night into Tuesday Night

A major Nor'easter is expected to develop south of New England Monday night, potentially getting stuck near Cape Cod into Tuesday before moving away Tuesday night.  This storm will bring heavy snow and gusty wind at times causing blowing and drifting snow, potential whiteout conditions at times leading to dangerous travel late Monday night through Tuesday.  Snow accumulations of 10" to 20" will be possible, especially in the Hudson valley and across western New England with amounts up to 10" in the Mohawk valley and western Catskills.

How to Make: Breakfast Mini Pizzas

SLINGERLANDS -- Pizza's not just for dinner! Here we combine two kid favorites-mini pizzas and scrambled eggs-for a breakfast treat adults and kids will both love.

1 serving | Active Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 10 minutes

·    1 large egg, beaten
·    2 tablespoons prepared marinara sauce
·    1 whole-wheat English muffin, split and toasted
·    2 tablespoons shredded Italian cheese blend
·    2 slices pepperoni (optional)
1.    Preheat oven or toaster oven broiler.
2.    Coat a small nonstick skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. Add egg and cook, stirring often, until set into soft curds, 1 to 2 minutes. Spread marinara sauce on English muffin halves. Top with the scrambled egg, cheese and pepperoni (if using). Broil until the cheese is melted, 1 to 3 minutes.

CHEF INFO: Melissa Doney Sheridan grew up in Latham, NY and is a 1996 Graduate of Shaker High School. She then went on to graduate from Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY Potsdam.

While at Potsdam, she worked for Hazen Enterprises in their Mama Lucia’s and Maxfield’s Restaurants. It was there that her passion to
create culinary delights took hold and she decided to attend culinary school.

Melissa studied Culinary Arts at Schenectady County Community College, where she graduated in 2003.

While at Schenectady she did internships at The Kentucky Derby, The Belmont Stakes and Breeders’ Cup. She was also the Campus Recruiter
for The Walt Disney World College Program, which she participated in while attending SUNY Potsdam. She currently sits on the Perkins Board at Schenectady.

While attending SCCC, Melissa worked at McGeary’s in Albany and Lanie’s Café in Loudonville. Upon graduation, she was the Sous Chef of The Country Club of Troy.

Melissa moved north to Lake George in 1995 and became the Executive Chef of the Shoreline Entertainment Complex. In 1997, she became the Executive Sous Chef at the Fort William Henry Resort and Conference Center in Lake George, NY.

Chef Melissa is most recently known for being a contestant on the FOX television show Hell’s Kitchen with Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsey. She appeared on Season 8, in which she was 1 of 16 contestants selected from 50,000 applicants.

She has also appeared on local radio and television, and donates her skills and talents to charity events for American Cancer Society, Circle of Life Camp, Caritas and A Taste of Albany.

Melissa is currently the Head Chef at the ShopRite of Niskayuna, leading our team in preparing delicious and convenient entrées for you to take home and call your own.

She is also an adjunct instructor at Schenectady County Community College for the Culinary Arts Program.
