Calsolaro won't seek 4th Common Council term

ALBANY -- Common Council member Dominick Calsolaro announced on Tuesday that he will not be seeking a fourth term.
The Councilman served Albany's First Ward for twelve years, and made the announcement Monday morning at Hoffman Park.  He said that while he has enjoyed his time in office, it was time for someone else to hold his seat.
" I don't believe in term limits, but I do believe some positions weren't meant to be lifetime appointments.  I don't want to be the council member for life.  I feel that it is important for the workings of our government that new blood, new ideas, be given the chance to be involved in the running of our government," he said.
Calsolaro said he is putting his support behind Dorcey Applyrs, a PhD student at SUNY Albany.
