Cyber intelligence sharing and protection act
Right now, government agencies need a warrant, but that could change as Congress mulls over the "cyber intelligence sharing and protection act" a bill designed, to guard against cyber-attacks.
The bill, also encourages private companies like Facebook and Google to share information, with the federal government. If companies "believe" those who use their site are a threat to cyber security.
Companies would not be "required" to cooperate, but for those who do, the rewards would be great.
This bill would "protect" them from any legal liability. The house already passed the measure and it's now in the hands of the senate.
President Obama has threatened to veto it.
