Two car accident sends two elderly to hospital

EAST GREENBUSH - Road conditions are to blame for an accident that sent two elderly people to the hospital.

East Greenbush Police say a 90-year-old woman lost control of her Chevrolet Malibu and collided with a pickup truck at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle and her 92-year-old passenger was injured, neither were wearing seat belts.

Both were taken by ambulance to Albany Medical Center.

The 49-year-old driver of the truck refused treatment and was wearing his seat belt.

Police say sleet accumulated quickly on the roadway early Friday morning and was a significant factor to the accident.

The accident is still under investigation.
