RECALL: Defective Airbags on foreign vehicles

A defective airbag problem is triggering a world wide recall of 3.4 million vehicles.

The defective airbags may deploy with too much pressure, and could result in injury.

The Honda Motor company is aware of one crash where the airbag deployed with too much pressure, however they are not aware of any injuries or deaths. 2001-2003 Honda Civic, 2002-2003 Honda CR-V and the 2002 Honda Odyssey are some of the affected models.

Toyota models affected are the Corolla, Corolla Matrix, Sequoia, and Tundra, and Lexus SC 430 models manufactured from 2001 to 2003.  Toyota says the fix would take up to a couple hours.

Nissan is recalling about 480,000 vehicles including 2000-2004 Maxima, Infiniti FX, Infiniti QX4, Nissan Pathfinder and Nissan Sentra.

A total of just under 3.4 million vehicles are affected by the recall.

Takata is the supplier of the airbag.
