ALBANY -- Police seized two large dogs on Tuesday afternoon after they reportedly mauled and killed two smaller dogs.
Polices said the animal control officer responded to Ludlow Alley where a caller said that two large dogs broke through the fence of a Clinton Avenue home and mauled his two dogs, which were severely injured and died at the scene.
The larger dogs, an English Bull Mastiff and a Presa Canario, were seized and transported to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society for a ten-day quarantine.
The owner of the larger dogs, 42-year-old James Garland, was cited by the animal control officer for Vicious Dog, Chase and Harass, Dog Running Loose, Unlicensed Dog, No Rabies Vaccination and Fail to Identify Your Dog, and is scheduled to reappear in Albany City Civil Court at a later date.
