Significant Winter Storm Possible From Monday Night Through Tuesday

An area of low pressure will track to our south through Monday.  Some light snow should develop through Monday afternoon and evening as a result.  The low pressure will then rapidly intensify off of the Northeast coast Monday night and Tuesday.  Uncertainty remains as to the exact track of this low pressure, but if it tracks close enough to the coast, portions of the area could see a significant snowfall.

NYC group gives away prom dresses to Sandy victims

NEW YORK (AP) -- Girls whose families were wiped out by Hurricane Sandy can still party in style, thanks to a New York City charity that has collected more than 1,000 prom dresses for the storm's victims.
The nonprofit group Where to Turn held a dress giveaway at a Staten Island high school Saturday for teenagers whose families lost homes in the massive storm. People from all over the country contributed gowns to the event.
The group has held smaller giveaways in recent years to help down-and-out families afford prom night, but this year's event took on new significance after the storm damaged tens of thousands of homes.

About 125 dresses were given away Saturday. The group says it hopes to do similar dress expos soon in other storm-ravaged parts of the city.
