'Buckwild' star Shain Gandee: Carbon monoxide poisoning possible cause of death
SISSONVILLE -- The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office has now identified all three people, including "Buckwild" cast member Shain Gandee, who were found dead in a vehicle in Sissonville, West Virginia.
The bodies of Gandee, 21, his uncle, David Gandee, 48, and family friend Donald Myers, 27, all from Sissonville, were discovered inside a Ford Bronco on Monday, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
The vehicle and bodies were found by one of Shain Gandee's friends who was searching the trails and ridges in the area for him and the others after they were reported missing on Sunday. Gandee was last seen at a local bar early Sunday morning where he had talked about going four-wheeling.
The Bronco was found in a wooded area, stuck in a deep ditch along a ridge line about a mile and a half from Gandee's home. Gandee's body was in the driver's seat of the Bronco.
According to investigators, the vehicle did not appear to be involved in a crash but was found sitting evenly and upright, partially submerged in deep mud. The muffler of the vehicle was completely below the surface of the mud. The Bronco had to be removed from the mud by a bulldozer.
The bodies were removed from the vehicle and have been taken to the state medical examiner's office. Autopsies will be performed to determine the cause of the deaths.
The sheriff’s office said there was no sign of foul play.
