Schenectady Greenmarket Moves Back Outside

SCHENECTADY -- The Greenmarket is moving outside for the first time this season on Sunday.

The market takes place every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m and will remain outdoors through October 2013. It features more than 70 local vendors who produce everything they sell, including: fresh fruits and vegetables; flowers and plants; dairy products; meat, poultry, fish; eggs; baked goods; specialty foods; wine; prepared food; artisan goods; and beauty products.
"It's been a long, cold spring and we're excited to be moving back into the sunshine for our fifth Outdoor Market," said Betsy Henry, Chair of the Schenectady Greenmarket Board. "Our farmers are already bringing greens, as well as the first of the season carrots and radishes, and lots of locally grown bedding plants. Shopping at the market always reminds me of the incredible productivity and creativity of upstate New York. We're so pleased that the market, customers and vendors together, continues to connect farm and city in support of a responsible, sustainable food system."
